      1. Identify and explain the categories of the websites (B2C, B2B, etc.). 

2. Compare and contrast the selected e-commerce sites in terms of their essential components, such as profiling and personalization, access and security, search management, content management and payment mechanism.

Assignment 3

1.       Identify and explain the categories of the websites (B2C, B2B, etc.)

B2C is transaction between business to customer. Customer received final product or services directly from company as end users. B2C usually at shopping mall, eating at restaurant and etc transaction from company to users. B2C sales must maintain good relations with their customers to come back. This B2C transactions apply on Amazon, Zalora and Tupperware website because their offers product at websites to end users. The customers order product in websites and received final product or services directly from company as end users. 

B2B is transaction between business to business. Such as transactions between a manufacturer and wholesaler, or a wholesaler and a retailer. B2B typicaly involves in supply chain of companies when a companies purchase components and products such as raw materials for use in manufacturing processes. This B2B transactions apply on Amazon and Zalora website.Zalora is B2B transactions because Zalora offer the options of dropship and consignment for who has the business brands out there to experience and publish their brands in Zalora website as third-party selection. Moreover Amazon also B2B transaction because Amazon offers users to sells through Amazon website. Amazon has been helping individuals and businesses increase sales and reach new customers. Today, more than 40% of Amazon's total unit sales come from third-party selection. Tupperware website does not apply B2B transactions because Tupperware only make sales to customers to received final product directly from company as end users.



2.    Compare and contrast the selected e-commerce sites in terms of their essential components, such as profiling and personalization, access and security, search management, content management and payment mechanism.
  • Profiling and personalization is profiling gathers data on website such as user registration and user feedback. Profiling is used for personalized one2one marketing, customer relationship management, marketing planning and website management.
  • Access control and security can be used regulate who or what can view or used resources in a computing environment.
  • Search management is used when users trying to find the information. The so-called deep Web that is, the Web sites that have information that can't be indexed by the search engines but can in many cases by searched directly at the individual Web site.
  • Content management designed to support the management of the content of Web pages
  • Payment mechanism is a payment system that any system used to settle financial transactions through the transfer of monetary value.

      Which e-commerce do you prefer? Explain your reason.

I prefer Amazon because it have success of the best sells. Amazon site has a unique design and it has a lot of high quality graphics on the front page, and each subpage is packed with content. Amazon page have the content that well-formated with tons of useful information for the buyers. The internal structure of Amazon that will definitely help the site rank higher for not just one but many keywords as it allows link juice to flow throughout the site. Furthermore, Amazon has no affiliate link on the homepage and funnel the traffic to a comparison chart and other review articles on the sidebar. Moreover Amazon offers an easy to use selling platform for numerous product categories, including beauty, books and home improvement.


4.       What have you learned from this class activity?

The information technology has change the business activity to be faster and easier. Ecommerce has a much more advantages than selling by traditional methods. The important of Information Technology to business in this era is it can get saving in set up and operational cost, do business that open 24 hours, reduce order processing cost of customer and be able to receive payment more quickly from online transactions. Lastly, it important to every entrepreneurs to learn this Information Technology knowledge to compete with others e-businesses.

About me


Assalamualaikum and hai.

I like to introduce about myself.

My full name is Sharifah Solehah Bt Syed Abdullah. I am 22 years old and my birthday on 26 February 1994. I stay at Selayang Heights, Selangor with my lovely family which is my dad, mother, brother, my younger sisters and I. I have 7 siblings and I love them so much. I born at Kuala Lumpur which is the famous placed because it have the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 until 2004 known as Petronas twin tower.

Now I’m currently further my study at Universiti Utara Malaysia. I am taking Bachelor of Business Administration-BBA (Hons). I am now year 4 semester 7 student. Now I am staying at Inasis TM hostel that provided by UUM. Before this I am studied at Kolej Matrikulasi Perlis not far from UUM, sintok.

Next semester I will do my internships at Dataran Templer, Selangor. I choose FAMA Corporation for my internships place because Fama Corporation produce a local agricultural and horticultural products for local and foreign consumption. I also interested by doing business online as my part time job in future. Within the extra money I will help and fulfill people needed.

STID 1103 - Computer Application in Management

STID 1103 is the code for Computer Application in Management course. We are having STID class at DKG 2/10 on every Monday and Thursday at 10.00 am to 11.30 am. I am in group L for this course and the lecturer is Dr. Ishola Dada Muraina.

STID 1103 is about computer-based technology that apply in daily activities such as the work place, education, entertainment, recreation and etc. This subject purpose to inform student about important to learning and engagement in computer application. The STID 1103 syllabus allows students to explore their own areas of interest, develop specific skills and knowledge and also understanding of computer-based technology areas. Students also can enhanced a variety of software applications that are available to them.
